Daemen Introduces New Sport Coaching Graduate Program

Sep 16, 2026

Daemen University has introduced a new Sport Coaching, M.S. program, enabling coaches to empower athletic potential by preparing them for opportunities across the youth, high school, recreation, collegiate, and professional levels.

The 30-credit Sport Coaching master’s program encompasses an online interdisciplinary curriculum that includes foundations in leadership; the sport industry; administration; strength, conditioning, injury prevention, and nutrition; and sociology and psychology of sport.

Graduate students can achieve a flexible balance between work and studies through this fully online program that combines synchronous and asynchronous offerings. They will also gain hands-on experience through two internship placements with sport coaches and athletic administrators.

"The Sport Coaching program is a unique online program that provides flexibility for students regardless of their geographic location," said Steve Chasey, assistant professor of Sport Management, Business Administration, and MBA. "Through interdisciplinary curriculum and internships, either on or off campus, students have a wonderful opportunity to expand their coaching network and secure graduate-level credentials to help propel their coaching careers."
