Graduation Week

Please Note: Commencement 2020's new date is Saturday, August 15th 2020

Congratulations, Class of 2020! Your moment has arrived! On behalf of the Student Activities Office we could not be happier for you and your accomplishments in your time here at Daemen. Whether this is your first time on one of our pages or your hundreth, we hope the following information revolving around Graduation Week is informative for you. Before going any further... 

Make sure you:

  1. Have submitted an application for degree with the Registrar's Office.
  2. Have indicated if you are (or are not) participating in the Graduation Ceremony.
  3. Have purchased your cap & gown through the bookstore. Use this link to purchase yours online: www.daemen.shopoakhalli.com. (Online orders can be placed up until July 18th. Currently the only way to purchase a cap & gown is through online. Stay tuned for details on in-person orders.)

Graduation Week/Senior Week Schedule of Events

 

Please note: Commencement 2020 has been rescheduled to Saturday, August 15th 2020. Student Acitvities is working with a number of offices and departments to update our events being held the week leading into Commencement. Please bear with us as we update and create a memorable experience for our graduating students. Below is the most up to date information regarding Graduation/Senior Week events.   • Monday, August 10th

Nursing Department Induction Ceremony

7:00pm, Location TBD

 

  • Thursday, August 13th

NYBParty

6:00pm-9:00pm, New York Beer Project

Come enjoy a memorable event with your friends at the New York Beer Project! There will be hors d'oeuvres served buffet style, cash bar, music, and games! Bus transportation provided. This event requires the purchase of a ticket to attend. 

 

  • Friday, August 14th

Picnic Lunch & Cap Decorating

11:00am – 2:00pm, Wick North Lawn

Need to decorate your grad cap last minute? Student Activities has got you covered! Come by for some basic cap decorating supplies and lunch! The lunch is open to the entire Daemen community. Rain location will be in the Wildcat Den.

 

Graduation Rehearsal (for Undergraduate students)

11:00am, Wick Center Dining Room

All graduating UNDERGRADUATE students MUST attend.

 

Graduation Mini-Rehearsal (for Graduate students)

12:30pm, Wick Center Dining Room

Graduating graduate students should attend, IF you have any concerns about the pronunciation of your name, of IF you have any questions about your diploma, and/or academic related inquiries. 

 

ALHANA Graduation Celebration

5:00pm - 7:00pm, MusicalFare Cabaret

 

Annual Excellence Awards Ceremony & Reception

7:00pm – 11:00pm, Wick Center Social Room/Dining Room

  • Saturday, August 15th

Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony at Kleinhans Music Hall (BS, BA, BFA)

10:30am - Outside doors open to Kleinhans Lobby. Graduates and families begin to arrive. 

11:00am - Line-up begins. (Graduates need to be in the Mary Seton Room of Kleinhans.) Doors open to Kleinhans Auditorium for general seating.

12:00pm - Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony begins. (The ceremony lasts approximately 2 hours.)

 

Graduate Commencement Ceremony at Kleinhans Music Hall (BS/MS, MS, MPH, MSW, DNP, DPT)

3:00pm - Outside doors open to Kleinhans Lobby. Graduates and families begin to arrive. 

3:30pm - Line-up begins. (Graduates need to be in the Mary Seton Room of Kleinhans.) Doors open to Kleinhans Auditorium for general seating.

4:30pm - Graduate Commencement Ceremony begins. (The ceremony lasts approximately 1.5 hours.)
