Daemen College’s Department of Natural Science and the D’Youville College School of Pharmacy (DYCSOP) pledge their commitment to training future pharmacists for the vital role they will play as part of integrated health care teams.
Students will have a unique opportunity to fulfill the requirements for both a Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree by successfully completing three years of undergraduate study in the Natural Science/Health Sciences/Pharmacy Track at Daemen, and then apply for admission to D'Youville to earn a PharmD.

Application/Admission Criteria Into the Daemen College Program
- Minimum High School GPA of 3.0
- Personal essay
- Minimum SAT score of 1080; 500 verbal and 500 math (minimum)
Application/Admission Criteria Into the D'youville College Program
- Applicants must maintain a minimum 2.5 cumulative grade point average in Daemen College coursework with no grade lower than a C; no grade lower than a B in any of the pharmacy pre-requisite courses;
- Submit a PharmCAS application designating the DYCSOP and Early Decision option by the deadline indicated in PharmCAS in fall of the junior year;
- Earn a composite Pharmacy College Admissions Test, PCAT, score ≥ 60th percentile. The PCAT must be completed by October of the junior year;
- All pre-professional courses must be taken for a letter grade; Pass/Fail, online, distance learning, CLEP, and foreign courses are not accepted;
- AP credit is not accepted for science prerequisites unless additional upper-level coursework is approved for substitution by the program coordinators at both colleges;
- Applicants must maintain ethical and professional standards, and demonstrate a strong understanding of the profession;
- Provide official transcripts from all colleges previously attended;
- Provide three letters of reference from academic professors, employers or supervisors, and faculty or healthcare advisors;
- Satisfactory completion, as defined by the DYCSOP’s Admissions Committee, of an admissions interview;
- Successfully complete all other necessary matriculation requirements for entering DYCSOP students.
DYCSOP will annually offer up to 10 seats for qualified Daemen College students. If admitted into the PharmD program, all credits earned during the first year of the PharmD curriculum will be recognized by Daemen College and applied toward completion of the students’ bachelor's degrees.

Accreditation Disclosure Statement
The Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredits Doctor of Pharmacy programs offered by Colleges and Schools of Pharmacy in the United States and selected non-US sites. For a Doctor of Pharmacy program offered by a new College or School of Pharmacy, ACPE accreditation generally involves three steps: Precandidate accreditation status, Candidate accreditation status, and Full accreditation status. Precandidate accreditation status denotes a developmental program that is expected to mature in accord with stated plans and within a defined time period. Precandidate accreditation status is awarded to a new program of a College or School of Pharmacy that has not yet enrolled students in the professional program and authorizes the School to admit its first class. Candidate accreditation status is awarded to a Doctor of Pharmacy program that has students enrolled but has not yet had a graduating class. Accreditation status is awarded to a program that has met all ACPE standards for accreditation and has graduated its first class. Graduates of a class designated as having Candidate accreditation status have the same rights and privileges of those graduates from a fully accredited program. ACPE conveys its decisions to the various boards of pharmacy and makes recommendations in accord with its decisions. It should be noted, however, that decisions concerning eligibility for licensure by examination or reciprocity reside with the respective state boards of pharmacy in accordance with their state statutes and administrative rules.
Accreditation Status
The Doctor of Pharmacy program of the D’Youville College School of Pharmacy was awarded accreditation status during the June 2014 meeting of the ACPE Board of Directors. Accreditation status was affirmed by the ACPE Board of Directors in June 2016 and is continued until June 2020.
