Exploring Ponds & Swamps
- 10:00am-12:30pm, Walton Woods Park, Amherst. Join Earth Spirit staff on an adventure discovering what plants and wildlife live both in and around the pond at Walton Woods Park in Amherst! Together we will explore the wondrous world of aquatic ecology. From hands on experiences to engaging lessons, this program will not be one to miss! Pre-registration required.

iMapInvasives 10th Annual Mapping Challenge 
To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the annual mapping challenge, participants are asked to be on the lookout for 10 invasive species in New York that are considered to be high-priority, data-gap species. Special prizes will be offered for the top data contributor and PRISM regions! The challenge is live from June 25th through July 31st, and all records submitted to iMapInvasives for these focus species are automatically entered for the challenge. Great Lakes Aquatic Invasive Species Landing Blitz
Boaters and other recreators learn about the risks of spreading aquatic invasive species (AIS) at public and private boating access sites across the Great Lakes region every summer. The Great Lakes AIS Landing Blitz is a multi-agency partnership effort and events take place over a two-week period, emphasizing the need to Clean, Drain, Dryboats whenever they come out of the water, and dispose of any unwanted bait in the trash. This year's event will take place from June 30th through July 13th. To learn more and find an event near you, visit https://www.glc.org/work/blitz.
