International Admission Requirements

Admission decisions are based on overall Grade Point Average (GPA) and English scores such as the TOEFL and IELTS. Students from an English speaking country are NOT required to submit a TOEFL and IELTS. The GPA requirement is based on the U.S. grading scale of 4.0.

  • Submit the online application
  • Submit Transcripts - Undergraduate freshmen: Submit all official secondary (high school) transcripts or mark sheets. Official transcripts must be sent directly from the student's school. Undergraduate transfers and Graduate students: Submit post-secondary (college/university) transcripts. All international transcripts must be sent through a credit evaluation service that will evaluate  transcripts to the American grading system and course equivalencies. We recommend using World Education Services, Josef Silny Associates, or Educational Credential Evaluators.
  • Submit the TOEFL or IELTS exam score (this is required for students whose native language is NOT English). Daemen College Institutional code for the TOEFL exam is 2762. This requirement may be waived for students who have lived in an English speaking country for two or more years.
  • Personal Essay - Please write an essay of at least 250 words on a topic of your choice or on one of the options listed.  This personal essay helps us become acquainted with you as a person and student, apart from courses, grades, test scores, and other objective data. You can write about a significant experience, achievement, risk you have taken, or ethical dilemma you have faced and its impact on you; Discuss some issue of personal, local, national, or international concern and its importance to you.
