Now more than ever, the role of healthcare professionals is crucial to our communities. That's why the presence of medical professionals who represent our diverse society is key to improving patient access and delivery of culturally competent patient care. An increasingly diverse population requires representation, delivery of quality care, and professionals who understand and embrace the importance of diversity and inclusion in their work.
In the third installment of our virtual panel series, Daemen College will explore why diversity matters in healthcare. Opportunities are present for all of us to grow in self-awareness of the implicit biases we all possess, especially now in an increasingly diverse world. We’ll explore together pathways to increased awareness and best practices, and how continuing education and intergenerational learning is an important factor in understanding and improving patient care. We'll look to understand how exploration can lead to increased awareness and best practices, and how continuing education and intergenerational learning is an important factor in understanding patient care. As the premier health sciences educator, we'll also look at how Daemen's Center for Interprofessional Learning and Simulation (CILS) will provide professional space and a dedicated platform for interprofessional learning and growth.
