Daemen and BOCES Enter Multiple Articulation Agreements

Daemen University and Erie 1 BOCES have entered into multiple articulation agreements to offer Erie 1 BOCES career and technical education (CTE) students academic credits toward Daemen’s criminal justicehealth promotionhealth, wellness, and fitness managementgraphic design, and early childhood education programs. 

Students who successfully complete and pass the Erie 1 BOCES CTE criminal justice, early childhood education, and virtual production and design programs with a B average or higher will receive four to 15 academic credits toward Daemen’s respective programs.

Students who successfully complete and pass designated Erie 1 BOCES programs will receive seven academic credits toward the following Daemen programs:

  • Sport exercise science careers program students will receive seven credits toward Daemen's health promotion program.
  • New visions health related careers program students will also receive seven credits toward Daemen’s health promotion program.
  • New visions health related careers or sport science careers program students will receive seven credits toward Daemen’s health, wellness, and fitness management program.

"Erie 1 BOCES is proud to offer articulation agreements with Daemen University to give students the chance to earn college credits while still in high school, saving them time and money on their future education,” said Anedda Trautman, assistant superintendent of instructional services, Erie 1 BOCES. “This partnership creates seamless pathways into college programs, allowing students to build confidence and get a head start on their chosen careers.”

Dr. Lisa Rafalson, founding dean of the College of Health, Human Sciences, and Business, said, “We are constantly looking for cost-effective ways to help students pursue their degrees. Our partnership with Erie 1 BOCES enables students to advance their education goals across a variety of programs so they are prepared to go out and change the world.” 

Erie 1 BOCES students are eligible to receive a $2,000 scholarship annually for up to four years. 

Erie 1 BOCES students interested in applying to Daemen’s criminal justice, health promotion, health, wellness, and fitness management and early childhood education programs must provide proof of the Erie 1 BOCES program completion to earn the corresponding academic credits, which will be approved upon acceptance.
