Inaugural Day of Giving Declared a Success
Daemen College vice president for institutional advancement, Craig Harris, declared the College’s first-ever Day of Giving campaign “an unqualified success.” This day-long fundraising effort, which took place on April 26, challenged Daemen alumni, faculty, staff, students, parents, and friends to give back in order to achieve various challenge gifts posed throughout the day by members of the College leadership.
The College received more than $32,500 from nearly 200 donors in a 24-hour period. The average gift was over $165 per donor.
“We thank all those who made this event so successful by supporting our great college,” said Harris. “Those who participated are clearly proud of all the college is accomplishing.”
The one-day challenge helped raise awareness about the importance of philanthropy in supporting the college and its students. Gifts received on Daemen Day of Giving supported student scholarships, academic programs, co-curricular enhancements, athletics, student life, and the Daemen Care Fund, which provides emergency financial support to students.
“The success of Daemen’s inaugural Day of Giving drive demonstrates the commitment of the Daemen family to the college,” said President Gary A. Olson. “It makes concrete peoples’ confidence in the college and its future.”
