The Daemen University Academic Festival brings the campus together to celebrate the academic and creative achievements of Daemen students. The Academic Festival provides a showcase for academic achievement and excellence through student and faculty presentations, exhibitions and performances. These presentations may reflect work done in a single discipline or be interdisciplinary in nature, and include posters, papers, panel discussions, exhibits, videos, and artistic, musical or theatrical performances. For the most up to date information on the event head to the Academic Festival Webpage.
Getting involved in student life is a process that happens over the entire course of the years you spend in college. Opportunities for engagement happen all the time, and at different points throughout the year. The Campus Activities Fair is an annual event that happens in September, where students can get information and a glimpse of our various Academic Clubs and Honor Societies, Special Interest Clubs, Greek organizations, and many of the competitive leadership positions that are available on campus. Remember, however, that this is just one of many opportunities you will have to engage with various clubs and organizations on campus.
Convocation marks the formal beginning of the Academic year and your journey as a Daemen University student. You’ll have a chance to see the faculty in full regalia, and hear from the President of the University, the President of the Student Government Association, and various other important members of the University community. Convocation happens during Freshman move-in day.
Exams are over and Commencement is almost here. Graduation Week is an exciting time filled with a wide range of events to celebrate the accomplishments of our graduating students. Graduation information is available to families in mid-March and a webpage of Graduation Week information is posted on the University website. As always, check your Daemen email for regular updates and announcements. You can also head to our Graduation/Senior Week Webpage for the most up to date information regarding Graduation Week.
Generally held the second week of the Fall and Spring semester, Daemen’s Greek fraternity and sororities host a number of casual events to introduce themselves to the student body, and start the year off with a little fun. Greeks play an important part in Daemen student life, and offer another opportunity for students to build close friendships with an intimate group of students across a diverse mix of academic disciplines and cultural backgrounds.
Daemen is a place where students often appreciate the smaller, intimate relationships they develop within their specific majors and areas of study, or within their special interest groups. This is one of the hallmarks of the Daemen University experience. Several times a year however, we look to gather the campus as a whole and celebrate that common shared experience of being involved with Daemen.
Homecoming & Family Week is the time for students, family, alumni, and faculty to come together to mix and meet, and share in the ever-changing experience of Daemen University. Our most up-to-date information is available on our Homecoming & Family Week page.
Usually happening just before the last week of classes, Springfest is a campus-wide celebration of the end of the academic year. Springfest is a day of fun in the sun (or rain, as the case may be), with games and activities, entertainment, and plenty of food. For more information on the current year's Springfest activities, head to our webpage.
