Why did you choose Daemen University?

The Daemen Business program has an accreditation through IACBE which adds value to my degree. The added value had a major impact on my choice to come to Daemen. I also enjoy the small class sizes; I tend to learn better in smaller settings, so I knew this was the right choice for me!

Why did you choose your present major?

I have always been interested in Marketing; more specifically, international marketing. Learning about new cultures and how a marketer needs to shift their focus to encompass certain norms has certainly inspired me!

Please briefly describe your Scholar's Day.

My Scholar's Day was nerve-racking experience! The first thing I remember was walking into the gym and seeing the huge set up, with balloons and other decorations. There were a few speeches and of course, a Kahoot! After the welcome in the gym it was time to wait to be interviewed! It was one of my first interviews so I had the right to be a little nervous! I remember waiting in the RIC for my group to be called to go to our rooms and the current scholars were so kind and wanted to get to know me. This is one of the things that calmed me down and helped prepare me for the interview! Although I was extremely nervous, I tried not to let it show once I walked into the room where a current professor and an alumna greeted me. The interview went by quicker than I thought it would and I felt a sense of accomplishment after I shook their hands, thanked them, and walked out of the door. After, I went to a few of the informational sessions that were taking place. There was a huge sense of relief and I was able to enjoy the rest of the day on campus!

Please describe your academic experience at Daemen.

My academic experience has pushed me to limits I thought I would never reach. I am achieving my goals with the help of the supportive professors and students on campus. I have been able to work closely with professors on independent projects and gain precious experiences I know I would not have received if I had gone to a different institution.

What do you like best about Daemen?

I enjoy the academic support and genuine connections I have made here. It truly has made my college experience!

What clubs or organizations have you been a part of here at Daemen University? What kinds of things do they do?

I am currently the Traditions Coordinator of Daemen's Honors Program. In the Honors Program, we are a support system for students who are achieving academic excellence! We are required to complete projects and work with our professors to inquire about new topics we are interested in!

Please describe any internship, study abroad, service learning or academic experience?

I participated in service learning during the Spring 21 semester. It was all online, but we had a great time making a difference. My group and I were tasked to make art project lesson plans and execute them through Zoom. This was for the Seneca Babcock CDC after school program. It was so fun to see their masked-smiling faces every other week!

Do you have a job or jobs on campus? Please provide a brief description.

I am an academic coach for the Learning Center on campus. I am able to provide help in several courses including economics, Spanish, and a few other business courses!

What is your favorite spot to stop by in town?

Currently, my favorite spot is Driphouse on Main Street!

What piece of advice would you give to prospective students?

Ask questions! If you are unsure about something, there is no harm in asking a question about it, no matter what it is about! This is also a way to be noticed and you never know what types of connections individuals on campus may have!
