Why did you choose Daemen College?
My decision to attend Daemen College was very easy. The Daemen College community is extremely friendly and helpful, the student to professor ratio is very small, the college is located in a phenomenal area and the physical therapy program is one of the best in the state. I was also given the opportunity to play soccer at the collegiate level. Daemen had nearly everything that I was looking for when choosing a college.
Why did you choose your present major?
Most people who study physical therapy take interest in this major because they have typically needed physical therapy in the past. My case is a little bit different. Growing up on a family fruit farm, I constantly interacted with customers and helped them in whatever way they needed. This one on one interaction with people is something that I loved to do, and my combined passion for math and science in high school just really tied up my decision to study physical therapy.
Please describe your academic experience at Daemen College.
Although this is only my first year at Daemen College, my academic experience thus far has been challenging but excellent. During the first couple of weeks I was a little bit overwhelmed with the course workload and trying to play soccer at the same time, but all of my professors are extremely helpful and willing to work with me at any hour of the day. I am very eager to see how my first academic year plays out at Daemen!
What is your favorite campus hangout? Why?
My favorite campus hangout is definitely the second floor of the Research and Information Commons. When I have lots of work to get done, the second floor of RIC is the perfect place for me to just sit down and focus. I could spend hours in there just sitting and doing my work without any disruptions.
What do you like best about Daemen College?
There are many outstanding aspects of Daemen College, but the sense of community here is something that cannot be beat. Since Daemen is such a small college, you are able to build fantastic relationships with both your peers as well as your professors. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming that it just makes the entire campus feel like home.
Do you have a favorite campus activity?
I have not been on campus for an awful long time, but the TGIF events are definitely something to look forward to each week. Anyone who attends gets free delicious food, and there are always activities to do on the Wick back lawn. It is a great opportunity to get to meet new people and just relax after a long hard week of school.
