Why did you choose Daemen College?

I was drawn to Daemen college due to the amazing academic and athletic programs as well as the personal connections that I made just from visiting campus. I found the environment soothing, and everyone seemed genuine and caring. I also really enjoy the class sizes and resources that support students and make their time in college easier.

Why did you choose your present major?

I chose to major in psychology because I feel that mental health is very important. Through my own experiences, I have found that learning how to change my behaviors and thoughts is essential for my success and ability to endure difficult times. Psychology fascinates me and I am still learning about the many subfields and career opportunities that this area of study has to offer.

Please describe your academic experience at Daemen College. (Ex: It is challenging, but I know it will prepare me for my career..etc)

So far, my academic experience at Daemen College has been challenging, however, I benefit from the engaging lecture style and I genuinely enjoy the topics I am learning. I also appreciate the small class sizes and friendly atmosphere.

What do you like best about Daemen College?

My favorite feature of Daemen College is all the facilities and resources that we have. Daemen administration members seem to really care about making these resources available and keeping students up to date with opportunities to learn more about these resources and use them. Some of my favorite facilities and resources include the Athletic and Wellness Center, the RIC library, and the Global programs office.

What are your plans after graduation?

After graduation, I plan to enroll in a graduate program where I can receive a higher education in a specific subfield of Psychology.

What clubs or organizations have you been a part of here at Daemen College? What kinds of things do they do?

I am currently a member of the Women’s Cross Country team, Women’s Track and Field team, and the Honors Program here at Daemen College. The Women’s Cross Country team and Track and Field team participate in several invitationals each season and I enjoy traveling and participating in races with my team. The Daemen Honors Program meets as a group throughout the semester for fun activities, service events, conferences, and more both on and off campus. In addition, we select classes that we enjoy and work on projects that help us better understand our areas of interest. We also have a nice space on campus to hang out, host meetings, and study.
