Why did you choose Daemen College?

I was drawn to Daemen college due to the amazing academic and athletic programs as well as the personal connections that I made just from visiting campus. I found the environment enchanting, as everyone seemed genuine and caring. I also really enjoy the class sizes and solid resources to support students and make their transitions easier.

Why did you choose your present major?

I believe that becoming an environmental psychologist is my calling. Combining environmental studies with psychology will allow me to fulfill my dream of helping to create a sustainable tomorrow. By studying the interaction between humans and their environment, environmental psychologists use environmental factors to make communities more functional and beneficial to the psych. This career path will allow me to explore psychological effects of different environmental stimulus and to help people have an improved sense of well being. Hopefully, when people feel more at home in their environments, they can begin to make better choices that create a better tomorrow.

Please describe your academic experience at Daemen College. (Ex: It is challenging, but I know it will prepare me for my career..etc)

So far, my academic experience at Daemen College has been challenging, however, I benefit from the engaging lecturing style and I genuinely enjoy the topics I am learning. I also appreciate the small class sizes and friendly atmosphere.

What do you like best about Daemen College?

My favorite feature of Daemen College is extensive student resources that we have. Daemen faculty members seem to really care about making these resources available and keeping students up to date with opportunities to learn more about these resources and use them. Some of my favorite resources include the Athletic Mentoring Program, the Athletic Training Department, the Athletic and Wellness Center, the Learning Center, and the Athletics Lounge.

What are your plans after graduation?

After graduation, I to enroll in a masters program which will enable me to receive the higher level of education that I need to specialize in Environmental Psychology.

What clubs or organizations have you been a part of here at Daemen College? What kinds of things do they do?

I am currently a member of the Women’s Cross Country team, Women’s Track and Field team, and the Honors Program here at Daemen College. The Women’s Cross Country team and Track and Field team participates in several invitations throughout their respective seasons. Practices require an early start to my day, sometimes even scheduled for 5 A.M., however I really enjoy my team and the comradery that we share. The Daemen Honors Program offers an open application to those who meet academic criteria and we meet as a group throughout the semester to help organize activities, cultural events, and more on campus. In addition, we select classes that we enjoy and create research contracts to present at conventions both local and far away.
