Job Summary

The incumbent is a senior member of the VPEM's staff, and is directly responsible for the hiring, training and supervision of admissions counselors.

Candidate exhibits a high and constantly growing level of knowledge in terms of enrollment management best practices, and office operations.

Daemen College is a Division II NCAA institution with a growing athletic program.  The division of Enrollment Management has made it a priority to work closely with the athletics staff through the enrollment process. While many of our athletes finish first in their chosen sport, they are also competing at the top of the class academically.  The successful candidate needs to be a collaborative team player and have experience working with coaching staff members and athletic departments. The incumbent will also need to be knowledgeable about NCAA rules and regulations.

  • Providing staff with the resources and training to meet their goals
  • Works with the VPEM to create and evaluate enrollment goals and the strategic plan
  • Adjusts proactively to changing market and cycle trends  
  • Managing national and international recruitment plans

Minimal Qualifications

  • Master's degree
  • A sophisticated understanding of enrollment strategies, strategic planning, markets and demographic research, data analysis and management
  • Preferably five or more years of experience in a results driven admissions and college environment at the supervisory level
  • Demonstrated success in meeting quantitative and qualitative goals in a rapidly changing environment
  • In depth knowledge of best practices
  • A commanding understanding of enrollment across the institution
  • Well versed in financial aid
  • High level of understanding and use of administrative computing, technology, and data-based enrollment management practices
  • High level of understanding and commitment to the liberal arts
  • Ability to lead and supervise staff and handle personnel matters creatively and diplomatically
  • Exhibits a high level of professionalism, leadership, creative problem solving, diplomacy negotiation and sales skills
  • Ability to manage complex conflicting projects and priorities with little supervision
  • Well-developed communication, interpersonal, and public speaking skills Understanding and appreciation of student learners representing diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends during recruitment periods
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel
